About the Event

An evening honoring and celebrating the lives and works of five Jewish composers who were affected by the Holocaust. These composers, whose freedom and productivity were curtailed and some whose lives were ended, were fated to be forgotten after the war. We cannot restore to these composers their lost lives. We can, however, return the gift of performing their music and let their spirits live on through song. Join us as we celebrate these five brilliant composers.

Works by Pavel Haas, Viktor Ullmann, Ilse Weber, Mieczysław Weinberg, and Rosy Wertheim.

Daveda Karanas, mezzo-soprano

Michael Lewis, piano
